She often selects silks for their luxurious feel, fluid drape, and inherent comfort and breathability. Babs Boutique NYC is proudly designed and produced in New York City with a commitment to sustainable practices. Furthermore, a portion of all proceeds supports charity: water, helping bring clean and safe water to communities around the globe.
Founding Story
Babs Boutique NYC began with a creative spark. Our founder, Barbara "Babs" Norman, spent 25 years behind the lens as a professional fashion photographer in the city. Her deep love for style naturally blended with her photographic eye when she started experimenting: what if her favorite photos—like a NYC street light, or a vivid travel memory—could become the pattern for a beautiful fabric? This exciting process of designing unique textiles and then designing the resulting garments quickly turned into an obsession. After the pieces Babs made for herself garnered endless compliments, she realized these designs belonged on more than just her closet hangers. And just like that, Babs Boutique NYC was born!
