Cuzen Matcha is an award-winning home matcha system engineered by a Tokyo native to replicate the flavor and texture of matcha prepared with a traditional stone mill and bamboo whisk — but at the press of a button. It freshly grinds organic, shade-grown leaves and whisks them into smooth, vibrant matcha.
Founding Story
I started Cuzen Matcha with my long-time friend, Oki Hatta, because we really love matcha, and we know freshly-ground organic matcha is better. Smells better, tastes better and feels better. The color is more vivid, and the nutrients are preserved better. Drinking matcha with Cuzen is one healthy daily habit that’s easy. Fresh, organic leaves are sent to you, while grinding and whisking are made simple with the Matcha Maker. All you have to do is press a button and enjoy the moment.
We put together a video with footage of the tea farms we source from and interviews with our farming partner and mechanical engineer. We hope this will provide a deeper understanding of our commitment to accessible, sustainably-grown, fresh matcha.

In 2020, Eijiro Tsukada started Cuzen Matcha to pursue his passion for making authentic matcha accessible to more people. His vision was to create an easy-to-use matcha maker machine based on ancient techniques. Eijiro’s goal was to develop freshly ground matcha accessible to everyone and provide superior flavor and health benefits of freshly ground matcha at home. Eijiro was born and raised in Tokyo, where he attended the University of Tokyo and then later studied at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
