I earned my degree in both Fashion Design and Marketing from FIT. After graduating, I began my career in footwear production, which gave me the opportunity to travel extensively—including to China—while working with a wide range of brands. My experience spans UK high street retailers, U.S. shopping networks, and major department stores.
After stepping away from the industry to focus on raising my three children, I’m now returning to fashion with a renewed perspective. As my kids grow more independent, I’ve decided to re-enter the field in a hands-on way by developing a product line that I'm truly passionate about.
I’ve always had a deep appreciation for resortwear. Whether I’m on vacation or spending a day at the local pool, I love how the right cover-up can instantly elevate a look—chic, comfortable, and effortlessly stylish. As women, we don’t always feel our best in swimwear, and a well-designed cover-up offers a sense of ease and confidence, allowing us to show as much—or as little—as we like.
Speaking from personal experience, after going through three pregnancies and the postpartum stages that followed, I found comfort in having a beautiful kaftan, a pair of gaucho pants, or a cover-up I could rely on. These pieces became my go-to staples—often the same one worked for me before, during, and after pregnancy. They made me feel put-together, regardless of how I felt in my body that day.
Flora Marteen was created from my passion for wearing vibrant, playful, and elegant resortwear wherever I traveled. The brand blends timeless silhouettes with luxurious textured fabrics—pieces designed to make you feel effortlessly chic, whether on a beach getaway or lounging by the pool. My collection of resortwear is for all women who want to feel incredible,wherever their travels take them.
The name Flora Marteen is a tribute to my grandmother, who continues to inspire me in countless ways. A talented seamstress and dressmaker, she built a thriving business from her home, transforming her passion for fashion into her livelihood. She carried herself with elegance, taking great pride in her personal style. And whether it was through her cooking, family values, fashion and sewing, or philanthropy, she left a lasting influence that continues to guide everything I do.
