Katie May Jewelry creates lightweight, color-led jewelry by hand in Charleston, South Carolina. The collection combines modern shapes, rich color and refined gold accents with a touch of bohemian style. Designs include resin and polymer clay earrings, gemstone and beaded jewelry, necklaces and coordinating gift sets—all created for women who want statement-making color without uncomfortable weight.
Personal connection is at the heart of the brand. Alongside versatile jewelry for everyday wear and special occasions, Katie creates personalized beaded dog necklaces with optional engraved name charms and coordinating necklaces for their humans. From colorful gifts under $50 to matching pet-and-owner jewelry and handcrafted pet memorial pieces, every design is intended to feel personal, joyful and thoughtfully made.
Founding Story
Hi, I’m Katie—the maker behind Katie May Jewelry Art. I’m a lawyer by day and a jewelry artist by night, creating pieces that feel just as joyful to wear as they are to make. My husband, Mike, and I recently celebrated 11 years of marriage, and when we’re not working, you’ll usually find us hiking, kayaking, biking or planning our next trip.
Life can get busy—and more than a little stressful—so making jewelry became my creative escape: a way to slow down, work with my hands and do something I truly love. What began with earrings has grown into a collection of lightweight earrings, necklaces, coordinating gift sets, personalized dog jewelry and meaningful pet memorial pieces. Every design is handmade by me in the Charleston, South Carolina, area with a modern, color-led style and just a touch of boho.
We share our home with three dogs—Nala and Rip, our Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and Tovin, our Australian Shepherd—who keep life interesting and helped inspire my personalized dog jewelry. Nala also serves as one of my favorite models, especially for the matching dog-and-human necklace collection.
There’s nothing better than seeing someone light up while wearing—or receiving—something I made. Whether a piece is chosen for its color, given as a thoughtful gift or created to celebrate the bond with a beloved pet, that feeling of joy and connection is at the heart of Katie May Jewelry.

Katie Walker is the founder and jewelry artist behind Katie May Jewelry, a woman-owned handmade jewelry brand based in the Charleston, South Carolina, area. A full-time attorney, Katie began making jewelry as a creative counterbalance to the demands of her legal career and quickly discovered a passion for color-led design and working with her hands.
Katie creates each piece using materials including resin, polymer clay, beads and gemstones. Her designs combine rich color, modern shapes and refined gold accents with a subtle bohemian influence, with a particular focus on lightweight jewelry that is comfortable enough for all-day wear. The growing collection includes earrings, necklaces, coordinated gift sets, personalized dog jewelry and handcrafted pet memorial pieces.
Katie can provide commentary on handmade jewelry, color and accessory styling, meaningful gifting, Etsy entrepreneurship, building a creative business alongside a full-time professional career, and the process of developing and testing new products. Her work is inspired by Charleston, travel, the outdoors and life with her husband and their three dogs—including Nala, the Rhodesian Ridgeback who frequently models the brand’s dog jewelry.
