About
Love Is Art transforms intimacy into something you can keep forever. Our signature couples art kits invite partners to cover themselves in paint, make love on a canvas, and create a completely one-of-a-kind abstract work of art together.
Founded on the idea that love itself can be a creative act, Love Is Art turns date night into an unforgettable shared experience—and the moments you create into something tangible. Each finished canvas becomes more than artwork; it’s a personal record of a moment, a relationship, and a story that belongs only to the two people who made it.
From anniversaries and weddings to Valentine’s Day or simply a night worth remembering, Love Is Art is about making memories—and making them beautiful.
Founding Story
Love Is Art was founded by artist Jeremy Brown in 2008. Brown began making paintings through this process in college after being inspired by the late 1960's French artist Yves Klein, who would cover nude bodies in paint and gently press them against blank canvases. One day, a close friend complimented him on a painting that was hung inside his studio. After discovering how the painting was made, she asked him to provide her with everything she needed to make a painting with her husband on their anniversary. Brown put together a small package with all of the materials needed and wrote a little directional note for them to follow. They absolutely loved it, and the idea was born.
Brown then spent time researching & developing the appropriate materials to ensure a safe project for couples everywhere to experience making art rolling around on canvas. The key components of the kits are a specially-treated cotton canvas and all natural, non-toxic and vegan paint. Covering all bases, the kits also includes a painters drop cloth to protect surfaces from paint splatters, disposable slippers to make a clean walk from the canvas to the shower and even body wash and a body scrubber.
He packaged the kit under the name LOVE IS ART. According to Brown, "Art takes patience, dedication, practice, communication, creativity, open mind, and an open heart. So does love. Love is art."
Simply put, the LOVE IS ART kit includes everything a couple needs to craft a one-of-a-kind abstract painting while being intimate on canvas. Capturing the love and creating memories, a lasting reminder of the love, passion and laughs that were shared. The kit also provides a unique bonding experience for the couples involved, as they work together as a team to craft their own unique masterpiece.

Jeremy Brown is a South African–born, Atlanta-based contemporary artist and the founder of LOVE IS ART. Born in Cape Town and raised between Australia and the United States, Brown’s diverse upbringing shaped a creative perspective rooted in curiosity, human connection, and a fascination with the experiences that bring people together.
Influenced by spirituality, philosophy, and the complexities of human existence, Brown’s work explores the intersections of joy and struggle, chaos and calm, intimacy and longing. Through layered abstract compositions inspired by dreams, memories, and lived experiences, his work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find meaning within moments that might otherwise disappear.
It was this fascination with human connection that ultimately led Brown to create LOVE IS ART. While in college, he became inspired by the work of French artist Yves Klein and his use of the human body as a tool for creating art. Brown began experimenting with his own process, using intimacy, movement, and the body to create abstract paintings on canvas.
The idea evolved in 2008 after a close friend saw one of Brown’s paintings and asked how it had been created. Intrigued by the process, she asked Brown to put together everything she and her husband would need to create their own painting for their anniversary. Brown assembled the materials, wrote a simple set of instructions, and sent them home to create together. They loved the experience—and LOVE IS ART was born.
Brown spent the following years refining the concept and developing a complete experience that couples could enjoy in the privacy of their own homes. Today, LOVE IS ART provides couples with everything they need to create a one-of-a-kind abstract painting together through intimacy, movement, and connection.
For Brown, the philosophy behind the project has always been simple:
“Art takes patience, dedication, practice, communication, creativity, an open mind, and an open heart. So does love. Love is art.”Both Brown’s personal artwork and LOVE IS ART are ultimately rooted in the same idea: the most meaningful art comes from the human experience—and sometimes the experience of creating it is just as important as the finished piece.
