Founding Story
Our story begins in Arctic Norway, home to Nordic Naturals founder Joar Opheim. When Joar came to California to complete his MBA, he noticed a glaring gap: the pure, omega-rich cod liver oil Norwegians relied on to stay healthy was nowhere to be found, and all the market had to offer was low-concentration fish oil with an awful taste. Driven by a vision to support healthy lives through pure, great-tasting omega-3s, he began filling extra suitcases on trips home to share fresh fish oil with friends in the U.S.
