Founding Story
Our founder, Shadae, has been enchanted by beauty and skincare for as long as she can remember. Growing up in the rural countryside of Jamaica, she often crafted up homemade beauty treatments, from making coconut oil for her hair to concocting DIY face masks. This early connection with natural beauty remedies became a cornerstone of her life.
As she pursued a demanding career as a software engineer, she noticed her skin becoming dry and acne-prone. Despite trying what felt like every product on the market, many of which led to burning and peeling and offered only temporary relief before she was back at square one.
Recalling the remedies from her childhood, like applying fresh aloe vera from her garden to soothe sunburns or mixing honey and lemon juice to fade dark spots, she realized that the key to better skin lay in embracing natural, vegan ingredients and eliminating harsh chemicals.
Within months, this epiphany led her to collaborate with the best chemists and cosmetic formulators from around the world, giving birth to Stush Beauty.
