The Shop Tinkerers is a small team building and improving Shopify apps that help merchants run better businesses. Our apps solve practical problems across marketing, merchandising, store design, customer experience, and day-to-day operations.
We are not trying to build one giant platform that does everything. We would rather make focused tools that are easy to use, fairly priced, and genuinely helpful. We spend a lot of time listening to merchants, improving the products we acquire, and tinkering with the small details that make running a Shopify store a little easier.
Founding Story
The Shop Tinkerers started when I acquired a few small Shopify apps in 2024. The apps already had real customers and solved real problems, but they had not received the attention, support, or product development they deserved.
I have spent most of my career helping ecommerce companies grow, and I liked the idea of taking that experience and applying it to a portfolio of useful software products. Instead of starting from scratch, we could find good apps, learn directly from the merchants already using them, and steadily make them better.
What began as a few small acquisitions has grown into a team of developers, marketers, and support specialists working across a growing portfolio of Shopify apps. The name comes from how we approach the work: we are always experimenting, fixing, refining, and looking for simple ways to make each product more useful.

Chris Grippo is the founder of The Shop Tinkerers, a portfolio of Shopify apps focused on helping merchants run and grow their businesses. He has spent more than a decade working in ecommerce, growth marketing, and software, including leading paid acquisition for major consumer brands and advising companies on how to scale profitably.
He started The Shop Tinkerers in 2024 after acquiring a small group of Shopify apps that had useful products and loyal customers, but needed more attention and investment. Today, Chris works with a team of developers, marketers, and support specialists to acquire, operate, and improve practical software tools for Shopify merchants.
